MUSCAT----- February 16, 2015-------- In the presence of more than two hundred participants from forty countries, the Arab Organization for Quality Assurance in Education (AROQA) held its Sixth Conference titled "Patterns of Education and Related Quality Standards" in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman under the patronage of HH Sayyid Taimur bin As’ad Al Said and under the chairmanship of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, AROQA's Chairman.

The Conference witnessed the participation of a number of Ministers of Education in the Arab countries, the Ambassador of the European Union, the Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League as well as representatives of international organizations and educational institutions.

The Conference held in conjunction with the fourth International Platform on Integrating Arab e-infrastructure in a Global Environment (e-AGE) aims to spread awareness on the mechanisms to enforce quality and accreditation standards in the educational institutions, and on the recent developments of new international standards including all patterns of education. The Conference also aims to find ways to encounter the challenges hindering the implementation of quality systems.

HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh stressed the importance of the Annual Conference as a scientific platform for researchers, academics and decision makers to promote various patterns of education as well as associated quality and accreditation standards including open and digital education.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh announced the launch of many initiatives including the digital education standards, the Association of Arab Digital Universities, and the issuance of the first edition of the Arab Journal of Quality in Education (AJQE).
