JEDDAH, KSA - The Arab Organization for Quality Assurance in Education (AROQA), chaired by HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, signed an agreement with Thamer International Schools (TIS) to cooperate in promoting the culture of school accreditation.
The agreement was signed by AROQA Manager Mr. Yaser Al Nadi, on behalf of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, and TIS Principal Mr. Mohamed Al-Ghamdi.
According to the terms of the agreement, the two parties would work together to disseminate the culture of quality in education, academic accreditation and exchange of expertise to contribute to achieving self-development in accordance with academic standards in terms of education, learning, communication, corporate resource efficiency, innovation and excellence which are measured by 100 indicators to achieve accreditation.
In the meantime, AROQA held various capacity building workshops for administrative, educational and technical staff at the Schools, with the aim of advancing education levels in the Arab world, noting that AROQA devotes all its capacities and expertise in the field of capacity building and training in order to achieve this purpose. He also pointed out that AROQA offers consulting services to improve the quality of education in accordance with national and international standards.
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh expressed his pride in cooperating with Thamer International Schools in Jeddah to provide them with quality services and accreditation, and at the same time, expand AROQA’s expertise even further.
Meanwhile, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh pointed out that the Organization launched the accreditation standards of educational institutions in conformity with international ones, devoting its resources and know-how to spread the culture of quality and accreditation to improve the educational level in Arab countries.
For his part, Al-Ghamdi praised AROQA’s role in improving and developing the educational level in the Arab region, noting that TIS have already been granted several foreign accreditations, however, it seeks to be accredited by AROQA and to keep abreast with the latest professional, practical and scientific developments and changes.
It is worthy to mention that the Arab Organization for Quality Assurance in Education (AROQA) is an international non-for-profit independent association established in Belgium in 2007 with the fundamental objective of raising the quality of higher education in general with a special focus on the Arab world.
Thamer International Schools (TIS) is a private independent school established in Jeddah in 2000, its Board of Directors is chaired by HRH Faisal bin Thamer Al Saud. It caters to both the local and the expatriate communities in Jeddah, and legally operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Education. TIS is accredited by NCA – CASI (North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement) and is a Cambridge International Attached Center.
